The Watch That Changed Everything
When Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe dropped his daughter's watch and watched it shatter, he set out to build one that would survive a three-storey fall. The result was the DW-5000C — the first G-Shock, launched in 1983 with its now-legendary square profile. More than 40 years later, The Origin square silhouette remains the most recognisable shape in the G-Shock lineup.
