Browse Seiko by Collection

Seiko Prospex — Seiko's sport and adventure line. Covers ISO-certified dive watches, solar field watches, and chronographs. The King Samurai and PADI Samurai are standout picks for divers; the Speedtimer Solar is the go-to for a low-maintenance sport chronograph. Rated to 200m water resistance across the dive range.

Seiko Presage — The dress watch collection. Inspired by Japanese lacquerware, cocktail culture, and garden aesthetics, Presage watches offer automatic movements, sunburst dials, and a level of finishing rarely seen under $800. The Cocktail Time is the most popular model in the range; the Japanese Garden Open Heart shows the movement working at six o'clock.

Seiko 5 Sports — The everyday automatic. The most accessible entry point into Seiko's mechanical range, the Seiko 5 Sports offers an automatic 4R-series movement, 100m water resistance, and a day-date display from $425. Available in dozens of colourways — the all-black SRPD65K is consistently one of our top sellers.

Seiko Coutura — Seiko's business-casual chronograph line. Bold carbon-fibre dials, stainless steel cases, and solar-quartz movements designed for the professional who wants something more distinctive than a dress watch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Seiko watch to buy in Australia?

It depends on your use. For everyday wear, the Seiko 5 Sports range from $425 is the most versatile automatic at the price. For a dive watch, the Prospex King Samurai ($749) is the standout pick. For a dress watch, the Presage Cocktail Time ($549) is widely regarded as one of the best-value automatic dress watches available anywhere.

Are Seiko watches good quality?

Yes. Seiko is one of the few watch manufacturers that produces its own movements, cases, crystals, and straps in-house — a level of vertical integration almost unheard of at their price points. Their automatic calibres (4R, 6R, and the high-spec 8L series) are well-regarded for reliability, accuracy, and longevity. Many vintage Seikos from the 1960s and 70s are still running today with minimal service.

Where are Seiko watches made?

The majority of Seiko's mainstream range — Prospex, Presage, and Seiko 5 Sports — is manufactured in Japan. Some entry-level quartz models are produced in Malaysia and Singapore. Seiko's premium lines, including Grand Seiko, are assembled by hand at the Shizuku-Ishi Watch Studio in Iwate, Japan.

What is the difference between Seiko Prospex and Presage?

Prospex is Seiko's sport and outdoor collection — dive watches, field watches, and solar chronographs built for active use and rated to 200m water resistance. Presage is the dress watch line, focused on refined Japanese aesthetics, cocktail-inspired dials, and elegant case finishing. Prospex for the ocean or trail; Presage for the office or a formal occasion.

Do Seiko automatic watches need a battery?

No. Seiko automatic watches are powered entirely by the movement of your wrist — a rotor inside the watch winds the mainspring as you move. If you stop wearing the watch for a few days, it will run down and stop, which is normal. Simply wind it manually by pulling the crown to position 2 and turning clockwise 10–20 times, then set the time and wear it.

How long do Seiko automatic watches last?

Indefinitely with proper care. Seiko recommends a service every 3–5 years for automatic movements to keep them running accurately and protect against wear. Many Seikos from the 1960s are still in daily use. The quality of Seiko's in-house movements means a well-maintained watch can realistically last a lifetime.
