The Citizen Eco-Drive Photon BJ6569-59X marks fifty years of Eco-Drive with a limited run of 5,000 numbered pieces.
Its 39.6mm case and integrated bracelet are Super Titanium finished in Duratect DLC with amber-yellow accents, far lighter than steel and hardened against scratches, while a dual-curved sapphire crystal sits over a multi-layer dial whose overlapping slits shift colour as the light moves across them. Eco-Drive solar calibre E036 draws power from any light source and runs up to twelve months on a full charge, so it never needs a battery. Luminous hands and markers, a purple seconds hand and a slim 9.9mm profile complete a refined men's watch.

About Citizen
Citizen traces its roots to the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, set up in 1918 to make Japanese timepieces. Its first pocket watch was completed in 1924 and named CITIZEN by Tokyo mayor Count Shinpei Goto, in the hope that it would be loved by people everywhere. Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. was established in 1930, and in 1952 it introduced the first Japanese-made watch with a calendar.
