Seiko 5 Sports SRPL89K revisits the SKX heritage with an orange sunray dial, a glossy unidirectional bezel with a glass insert, and a refined rubber strap that sits comfortably on the wrist.
This men's watch features a stainless steel case that measures 42.5 mm in diameter and 13.9 mm in thickness, with a lug-to-lug length of 46 mm for a well-balanced fit. Readability comes from applied hour markers and LumiBrite-coated hands and indices, while the automatic 4R36 movement delivers reliable timekeeping with manual winding and hacking seconds. A day/date window sits at 3 o'clock, and the see-through screw-back reveals the 24-jewel movement. Water resistance is 100 metres, suited for daily wear and light aquatic activity.

Where Seiko 5 began
Seiko 5 traces back to the 1963 Sportsmatic 5, the first Japanese automatic watch with a day-date display. The Seiko 5 Sports name followed in 1968.

Seiko's Magic Lever, introduced in 1959, winds the mainspring whichever way the rotor turns, and it is still used in many Seiko automatics.

About Seiko
Seiko began in 1881, when 21-year-old Kintaro Hattori opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in Tokyo, moving it to Ginza in 1887. In 1892 he founded the Seikosha factory, and in 1924 the first watch to carry the Seiko name was released. On 25 December 1969 Seiko launched the Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch.
